1) SUPERMAN
Whether you love him, hate him, or meh him, Superman is the most important superhero of all time. In fact, when he first debuted in the 1930’s in “Action Comics,” he gave birth to the modern superhero concept; all the superheroes we know and love today were made in his image. Not only did he invent the race, he has been winning it for almost 80 years — he was received with incredible popularity which still pervades to this day, with no foreseeable end to his reign. Superman’s infinitely fascinating character psychology, cultural significance, and all-around badassness aside, he’s still the #1 OG who was, of course, brought to us via DC comics.
2) ALAN MOORE
I would hope that no one would dispute the fact that Alan Moore was a genius and produced some of the most thought-provoking, influential, and beloved comics of all time. And Moore’s greatest triumphs were published where? Marvel? Oh no, that’s right, DC.Obviously.
3) VERTIGO
I would hope that no one would dispute the fact that Alan Moore was a genius and produced some of the most thought-provoking, influential, and beloved comics of all time. And Moore’s greatest triumphs were published where? Marvel? Oh no, that’s right, DC.Obviously.
4) MOVIES
Woah woah, wait a second now. Sure DC has had a few (hundred) misfires with their live action films, but do you not remember the 90’s batman movies?? If it weren’t for those movies, none of us would even be alive right now. How can you naysayers turn your back on the second golden age of film and the single most important moment in all of our lives: THE ICEMAN COMETH!!!
5) OBJECTIVITY
The final and most important reason: this is KM Comics, the most high-brow and reputable source imaginable. Don’t burden yourself with all that thinking, I’ve already done it for you! And as the ultimate authority on the subject, I hereby declare that the correct answer to the Marvel versus DC debate is, objectively, DC.
